This covenant is intended for Small Groups. But can be used in any fellowship format. I posted simply as a resource to pass along.

Small Group Covenant

Genesis 31:44

“Come now, let’s make a covenant, you and I, and let it serve as a witness between us.”

This Covenant is intended to outline the expectations of each member, and to cultivate a community centered on Christ.

• Commitment-
  • I will make this Small Group a priority by attending each week. (Heb 10:25)
  • I will participate openly in group discussions. (1 Cor 14:26)
  • I will keep up with weekly assignments, and come prepared. (Acts 2:42)

• Confidentiality-
  • I will respect each member, by holding what is shared in small group with utmost confidence. (Proverbs 11:13)

• Unconditional Love-
  • I will choose to love, even when it is uncomfortable. (John 15:13)
  • I will extend grace to everyone, and accept them as they are. (Matt 18:23-35, Heb 12:14-15)
  • I will strive to build genuine relationships. (Rom 12:9)
  • I will listen, more than I speak. (James 1:19)

• Service-
  • I will commit to serve with my group at least once a month during the semester. (1 Thes 1:3)

• Authenticity-
  • I will be open and honest about every aspect of my life. (1 John 1:7)

• Accountability-
  • I will voluntarily ask members of this group, to speak the truth in love about areas in my life that I am struggling with. (Eph 4:15, James 5:16)

• Discipleship-
  • I will choose to walk side by side with one another, sharing life together. (2 Tim 2:2)
  • I will build up one another in love. (1 Thes 3:12-13)
