18 The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. 19 As the Scriptures say,

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”[a]

Wisdom can be so arbitrary at times..

It’s so easy to fall into the temptation of our own “loftiness” that we can lose sight of the obvious. Moments of clarity foreshadow the most brilliant of ideas. It’s as if the Wisdom we diligently seek, masks itself right in front of us.

What makes the cross seem so foolish?… Love

The Cross is where the sin of Man and the holiness of God collide. God’s righteousness demands judgment, yet God’s heart longs for reconciliation. The chasm created by the first man “Adam” can only be bridged by another man “Jesus Christ”

The Gospel of Christ is THE most powerful and obvious demonstration of Gods reckless love. Yet the wisdom found in Christ death and resurrection has eluded man for thousands of years, hidden behind the logic and self-absorbtion of men who call themselves “wise”

How will you reflect upon the Cross?
Will it’s depth and obvious power elude your own lofty thinking?
Or will you embrace it’s “foolishness” and find the redeeming power of Christ love..

Jesus marveled..

Very rarely do we see the Son of Man stand in awe of something..
Yet it was the blindness of their heart, which left Him in wonder..

It’s funny how we complicate things.. how we choose to rationalize or twist the facts to seem more appetizing.. I guess I would be marveled too, if the Answer you have been looking for was right in front of you.. yet you failed to acknowledge or receive, and instead twisted and distorted it, to suit your own comfortability.. Our heart when deceived is a destructive tool.. It can make any excuse to fuel our selfish want..

Yet, the blueprint for the heart of man was intended to be marveled..
It was crafted by the same hands that forged the mountains, and fashioned the seas.. Yet our hearts were born into our fallen nature, and cast into the shadow of our sins.. Only to lay wait for a Redeemer..

“For I fully expect and hope that I will never be ashamed, but that I will continue to be bold for Christ, as I have been in the past. And I trust that my life will bring honor to Christ, whether I live or die..”

As I read and reflect on the words of Paul inspired by the Holy Spirit..I am convicted of Pauls captivity.. Not the physical chains and imprisonment he suffered.. but his sole & devout affection for the Heart of Christ.

A heart held captive by the depth of love and mercy that pour uninhibitedly.. To be utterly consumed and captured up to the point of complete and perfect submission..

And from Paul’s ransomed heart, lies a strength of divine and complete authority.. His words, are no longer his own.. His actions, bear fruit of one much greater than he.. His thoughts, take heed to an all knowing King..His courage, bold and reckless.. Nothing will stop him, not even death..
